Anaheim, Calif. -- About 550 food industry executives gathered at the Disneyland Hotel here for the 28th Annual Stars & Stripes Good Scout Award luncheon. The event is a benefit for the Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America. Each year the Boy Scouts of America organizes the luncheon, which honors someone in the food industry who has demonstrated outstanding community service. This year, Fred Schuit, senior vice president of operations at Albertsons, received the 2005 Good Scout Award for his philanthropic work with various organizations, including the Boy Scouts, City of Hope and Muscular Dystrophy. Pictured here are Schuit (left, first photo) receiving the award from Kevin Davis, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Bristol Farms, and chairman of this year's luncheon; the Boy Scout color guard from Pack 506 in Huntington Beach; and Caroline Nakken, president and CEO of Mass Connections and event vice chairman.
