BETHESDA, Md. - Michael Corsello, vice president of buying and merchandising for Balducci's here, has been inducted into the Guilde des Fromagers/Confrerie de St. Uguzon, France's elite cheese brotherhood.

Corsello has more than 20 years of experience in high-end food retailing, having worked at Zabar's, the Marketplace in Macy's Cellar, Fresh Fields, Kings and Dean & Deluca before joining Balducci's. The company runs 10 upscale supermarkets and five restaurants, including stores that previously operated under the Sutton Place Gourmet and Hay Day Country Market banners.
