SAN ANTONIO -- H-E-B Grocery Co. has appointed Michael Eardley to fill the vacant post of deli business development manager. Previously, Eardley -- who is also president of the Madison, Wis.-based International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association -- was with D&W Food Centers, Grand Rapids, Mich. With D&W since 1972, Eardley was most recently that chain's vice president, fresh foods. During his tenure there, which began while he was in college, he held various positions, including director of deli, director of food service and senior director of fresh foods. In his new post, Eardley reports to Birgit Enstrom, vice president of deli/food service. The Texas chain has more than 200 units.
