HARRY O'HARE

WINCHESTER, Mass. -- Services were held here last week for Harry O'Hare, 82, founder and chairman of the food brokerage Johnson, O'Hare Cos. He died at his home on Dec. 5. O'Hare was born in Boston in 1922 and founded Johnson, O'Hare, a food brokerage based in Billerica, Mass., in 1956. He remained chairman until his death. O'Hare was a Harvard graduate and served as a gunnery officer aboard the USS Tuscaloosa in World War II. In a 57-year career in the food industry, O'Hare also served as vice president of One Pie Canning Co., and founded the Nazareth Food Association, which today is known as the New England Food Foundation, one of the largest local food industry charities in the country. He is survived by his wife Kay, two brothers, a sister, five children and seven grandchildren.
