NetGrocer.com, North Brunswick, N.J., has named Lisa Kent vice president of consumer marketing. Kent previously served as executive director of worldwide e-ventures for the baby and kids division of Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick, N.J. Kent will head up several new programs designed to build customer loyalty and attract new customers for NetGrocer, said Jim Chambers, chief executive officer.
Webvan, Foster City, Calif., last week began offering prepared meals at its Suwanee, Ga., facility, which serves the greater Atlanta region. Webvan also extended its delivery hours in Atlanta. Customers can choose 30-minute delivery windows between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. as well as between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. daily. Deliveries are available Saturday and Sundays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
OneClip.com, New York, said its electronic couponing and promotions increased purchases by 25% in the first month of partnership with eGrocer.com. eGrocer is a division of Fulgent Technologies, San Jose, Calif., that provides e-commerce capabilities for local supermarkets nationwide. According to OneClip, more than half of eGrocer's customers used coupons when ordering. Those customers purchased 52% more products and spent 32% more money than those who did not use coupons.
