RALEY'S SUPERMARKETS, Sacramento, Calif., has signed on with a new point-of-purchase services (POPS) in-store sign program for supermarket retailers. Raley's new in-store program will enable the chain to create tailored shelf-edge signs on a store-specific basis that includes product-specific messages from participating food manufacturers. "Raley's brings important new market coverage to our POPS program, particularly in northern California," said a spokesperson from Insignia, which developed the in-store sign program. Raley's operates 135 supermarkets and super stores in northern California and Nevada under the Raley's, Nob Hill Foods, and Bel Air Markets trading names. Through its POPS business, Insignia now serves retail supermarket chains operating in more than 4,000 stores in 44 states, and more than 90 consumer goods manufacturers, including Best Foods, ConAgra, Dole, Heinz, Kellogg's, Procter & Gamble, and Sarah Lee.

FALLEY'S, Topeka, Kan., has finished a 35-store rollout, including system configuration, installation, customer training and technical documentation, of store merchandise manager (SMM) software from Total Control Information (TCI) to manage its store-level pricing, receiving and transfer of merchandise. The new Windows-based software contains a store-specific database that enables stores to track costs, special deals and allowances, and to make certain they are applied as merchandise is received. "Having one database in a store allows for better control and integrity of data between the various systems," said Kim Swearington, director of technology support, Falley's. "With the installation of SMM, accountability has been re-established at the back door, strengthening our relationship with vendors."

EXCHANGEBRIDGE, formerly Grocerylink.net, a key Internet provider of order processing and database management solutions and services for the consumer packaged goods industry, announced the asset purchase of Success Systems, a Web-based leader in purchase order and invoicing technology. Success Systems developed the rules engine and database warehouse that became the basis of eXchangeBridge's Web-based order-management service for the CPG industry. "eXchangeBridge is positioning itself to become a major order management transaction service provider for the consumer products category, and Harbinger is proud to be providing them with portal and back-office infrastructure technology to support their industry-specific solution," said David Bursiek, executive vice president of Harbinger, a worldwide business-to-business e-commerce software, services and solutions company.
