UCCNET, Lawrenceville, N.J., a subsidiary of the Uniform Code Council, has appointed Michele Southall as senior product analyst, and promoted Jodi Sykora to marketing events specialist and Anna Carney to marketing communications specialist. Southall will be responsible for systems analysis work, including support in defining industry requirements, developing global XML standards in conjunction with the UCC and examining program efficiency in operating and response times. Previously, Southall was the national electronic commerce project administrator at Southern Wine and Spirits of America. Sykora, who joined UCCnet in February as marketing event coordinator, is responsible for developing and managing trade shows, action group meetings, conferences and marketing events. Previously, Sykora was an account manager at Impact Unlimited, a strategic marketing company in the events, marketing and exhibits sectors. As marketing communication specialist, Carney will be responsible for developing and managing media plans, presentations, marketing support collateral and public relations efforts. Prior to joining UCCnet in March as marketing communications coordinator, Carney was the marketing and communications manager for Coming Attractions, an apparel company based in Manassas, Va.

USA.COM, Madison, Wis., an on-line meat and poultry exchange, has passed the $30 million milestone for closed transactions, representing more than 35 million pounds of product traded over the exchange. The number of registrants for the exchange is now more than 1,350. "Our company is committed to providing the users with the new or improved products and services as defined by industry feedback and the market research FoodUSA.com has conducted," said Tom O'Connell, chief marketing officer. FoodUSA.com plans to add services to its program including credit, logistics and enterprise resource planning integration.
