FOOD DISTRIBUTORS INTERNATIONAL, Falls Church, Va., will launch the first two components of its new e-commerce strategy at its Productivity Convention and Exposition next week in Minneapolis. FDI's E-Biz services -- FDI FleetXchange and Superjobmarket.com -- will be demonstrated on the show floor. FDI FleetXchange, powered by Neodesic, is an exchange that provides fleet-related information and expertise, as well as favorable pricing and rebates for products and services. The buying service included in FleetXchange will be provided by AmeriQuest, in Cherry Hill, N.J. Superjobmarket.com, in partnership with the Food Marketing Institute, Washington, D.C., provides human resource information and access to potential job candidates, as well as products, services and discounts. John R. Block, FDI's president and chief executive officer, said the association is preparing additional components, which will include an on-line learning center and other services designed to help member companies save money and become more efficient. "We are taking advantage of existing services and tailoring them to the needs of our members, wholesalers and food service distributors alike," Block said. FDI's new B2B offerings are available through the association's Web site, www.fdi.org.
