ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- After several months of discussions, the International Fresh-cut Produce Association has rejected an offer to combine with the United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association in producing a single trade show. Both organizations, based here, hold their annual expositions at approximately the same time. However, an IFPA task force examining the merger possibility determined that a joint show would not promote the trade group's goals, according to association officials. They cited a survey of members indicating they preferred the smaller IFPA show, and noted the importance of the income derived from the event in paying for operating expenses and salaries.
