WASHINGTON -- Sixteen manufacturers and retailers joined the Grocery Manufacturers of America and the Food Marketing Institute, both here, in urging the consumer packaged goods industry to adopt the UCCnet data registry as the North American standard for electronic data sharing.
the UCCnet data registry by June 1 to realize the benefits of industry-wide synchronization by the end of 2002. Supermarket operators signing the statement were Supervalu, Ahold USA and Wegmans. GMA member companies signing the statement were Procter & Gamble, General Mills, Kraft Foods and several others.
