To the editor:o know how much I appreciated your [Page 2] Aisle Watch column of June 5 ["Closing the Grocery Gap"]. As you know, we [at Pathmark] are sitting on the edges of our seats waiting to see what [New York] Mayor [Rudolph Giuliani] is going to do relative to the store. [Pathmark is awaiting final approval from Giuliani to build a supermarket in East Harlem.]It's hard to believe how much politics

[Pathmark is awaiting final approval from Giuliani to build a supermarket in East Harlem.]

It's hard to believe how much politics are involved in trying to build a store.

I am forwarding a copy of the column to Mayor Giuliani as I do believe that you have "captured the moment." I guess as the song "New York, New York" says, if you can do it there, you can probably do it anywhere.
