"It's the biggest launch we've ever had, and we're very excited about the license," said Jim McDowell, director of marketing for Ambassador Cards based here. About 200 products will feature Pocahontas, making it the largest movie license to date for parent company Hallmark Cards, in terms of product offering and potential sales to retailers. Products featuring characters from the film will include greeting cards, gift wrap, party goods and stickers. Merchandise will be available in mass market outlets approximately two weeks before the late-June 1995 movie debut.

Kellogg's, Sony, TV Show in Drive

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. -- Kellogg USA here will promote Sony Wonder's new home video "The Adventures of Pete and Pete: Farewell My Little Viking," due for release March 21. The video, based on a program that regularly airs on the Nickelodeon cable TV network, includes a guest appearance by rock star Iggy Pop.

The video will be featured on 24 million boxes of Frosted Mini-Wheats beginning in April. With two proofs of purchase of Frosted Mini-Wheats or Bite Size Mini-Wheats consumers can receive an audio cassette of three songs associated with the TV show. Consumers also will receive a rebate offer good on other Nickelodeon videos.

Nabisco to Promote Lunden Video

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Nabisco Shredded Wheat cereal will tie in with Republic Pictures Home Video, Los Angeles, to promote "Joan Lunden: Workout America." With proofs of purchase of the video and two boxes of the cereal, consumers will receive a $3 rebate. The rebate coupon will be distributed through a freestanding insert and video package inserts. A national coupon handout program is scheduled this month in 5,000 supermarkets. Video box art and a 30-second commercial before the start of the video will feature the cereal.
