Most Americans live within five miles of a community pharmacy, Ryan pointed out at the meeting. "Our pharmacists often are the only health care professional available, and without question are certainly the most accessible."
Recognizing that over the years there have been differences between pharmaceutical manufacturers and chain pharmacy operators on pricing and other issues, Ryan said the challenge was "not to let our disagreements overshadow our ability to do those things that will benefit each other and the American public."
