MINNEAPOLIS -- Nash Finch Co. here has announced plans for the expansion and remodeling of its distribution center in Lumberton, N.C. Construction is scheduled to begin in early January 1999, and is expected to be completed by late summer.

In addition, an ice cream freezer and five banana-ripening rooms will be constructed, filling a void in the Lumberton distribution center's current capabilities. The expansion will increase the distribution center's size to approximately 350,000 square feet.
