MINNEAPOLIS -- Nash Finch Co. here said it has consolidated several wholesale operations into a single Midwest division in an effort to streamline its business.
Neb.; Iowa division, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and a distribution center in Omaha, Neb.
The company said its other divisions -- Super Food, Southeast and military -- weren't affected by the realignment.
According to Ron Marshall, president and chief executive officer, "We're realigning this part of our business to streamline reporting relationships, thereby strengthening accountability."
Nash Finch said the new Midwest division will be headed by Daniel K. Wippler, operating vice president, who had been manager of the Northern division.
In a related move, Nash Finch said Arthur L. Keeney, vice president of corporate retail stores, will report directly to Marshall rather than May.
