MINNEAPOLIS -- Nash Finch Co. last month completed the upgrade of video rental point-of-sale software in 11 stores it bought from Erickson's Diversified, Hudson, Wis., earlier this year. When Nash Finch acquired the stores, the video software was not Y2K compliant or compatible with it's existing video operation, said Clifford Feiock, video coordinator.

"It is equipped so that if we decided to go forward with that, everything should be in place," he said.
VSDA Independents' Council Encourages FTC Investigation
ENCINO, Calif. -- Independent Retailers Advisory Committee of the Video Software Dealers Association, here, has drafted a letter to the Federal Trade Commission asking the FTC to continue its ongoing investigations into the video industry, according to an on-line report of the committee's November meeting.
The committee requested that the FTC focus on the number of closures of independent video specialty stores and the reasons for them going out of business. The letter was expected to be reviewed by the VSDA board today.
Movie Gallery Shows Trailers On-line
