WELL-HEMPED WINNIPEG, Manitoba Manitoba Harvest will soon release the first-ever line of organic hemp drinks. Dubbed Hemp Bliss, each beverage contains 1,200 milligrams per serving of omega-3 fatty acids part of a heart-healthy diet as well as 5 grams of protein. The drinks are also free of cholesterol, nuts, soy and lactose. Served in 32-ounce containers, Hemp Bliss is available in three flavors:

  1. WELL-HEMPED

    WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Manitoba Harvest will soon release the first-ever line of organic hemp drinks. The drinks are also free of cholesterol, nuts, soy and lactose. Served in 32-ounce containers, Hemp Bliss is available in three flavors: chocolate, vanilla and original. Suggested retail is $5 per container. An 8-ounce single-serving size will be available early next year.

  2. FREE AS A BIRD

    FREDERICKSBURG, Pa. — Freebird, producer of organic, antibiotic-free chicken products, has announced the release of eight new fully cooked offerings. Included are three types of party wings, breaded and grilled chicken breast strips, breaded chicken patties, chicken nuggets and kids' chicken bites. Served in 8-, 12- or 16-ounce packages, depending on the item, all products come from free-range birds and are free of trans fats and hydrogenated oils. Suggested retail prices range from $6.99 to $7.49.

  3. STEEPED IN QUALITY

    OAKLAND, Calif. — Numi Organic Tea has launched decaffeinated green and black teas. This marks the first decaf release for the company, which was founded seven years ago by a brother-sister team. The green tea selection includes “Gen Mai Cha,” made with toasted rice, and “Ginger Sun,” which contains organic ginger and lemongrass. The black tea, “Indian Night,” contains organic black tea leaves and vanilla bean. Numi has also released two white teas, “White Nectar” and “Velvet Garden.” Suggested retail is $5.49 per box.

  4. GREENER CLEAN

    VANCOUVER, Wash. — Bi-O-Kleen, maker of environmentally friendly cleaning products, has launched three new dish-cleaning solutions. Included are an automatic dish gel, an automatic dish powder and two types of dishwashing liquid — lemon-scented, and an allergen-fighting formula. All Bi-O-Kleen products are free of dyes and brighteners, as well as commonly used chemicals such as chlorine and phosphates. The dishwashing liquids and powder are available in 32-ounce containers, while the dish gel comes in a 64-ounce bottle. Suggested retail prices range from $5.49 to $13.89.

  5. DOG (AND CAT) DAYS

    CLACKAMAS, Ore. — Castor & Pollux pet food company has announced the release of a new line of pet chow. Labeled Ultramix, the line includes three varieties of dog and cat food — one for adults, one for younger animals and a weight-management formula. Complementing the organic kibble in each bag are helpings of potatoes, carrots, apples, blueberries, papaya and bananas. In addition, all foods are free of wheat, corn and by-products. Available in a variety of sizes, suggested retails range from $6.29 to $42.59.

  6. BAR NONE

    NEW YORK — New to supermarkets this fall is Keribar, a healthy snack bar made by KKG Body Fuel Foods. Available in three flavors — cherry almond, strawberry chocolate chip and apple peanut butter — each bar consists of unprocessed food and contains only 160 calories. Celebrity dietitian Keri Glassman engineered the bars, marketing them mainly to women on the go. Single 1.4-ounce bars as well as boxes of 12 bars are available. Suggested retail is $2.19 for one bar, and $23.88 for a box.

  7. MAKE IT SPARKLE

    HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Ark. — The Mountain Valley Spring Water Co., America's oldest bottled water producer, has launched a sparkling water. Like the company's trademark spring water, the sparkling version comes in a green glass bottle, with a retro-looking, 1930s-style label. The water comes from a protected water source on the company's Arkansas property, and is available in third-, half- and whole-liter bottles. Suggested retails are $0.79, $0.99 and $1.99, respectively.

  8. TURKEY CALL

    LAWRENCE, Mass. — Ian's Natural Foods, makers of kid-friendly frozen offerings, has launched bite-sized popcorn turkey corn dogs. Slightly bigger than a quarter, the miniature snacks are corn-batter dipped and free of allergens, hormones and artificial flavors. They're available in an 8-ounce box, at a suggested retail of $4.69. Also new from Ian's are skinless chicken strips, available in an 8-ounce box for $4.89.
