The maker of all-natural and meatless ethnic foods has simultaneously introduced a new soup line with flavors from around the world: Tuscan Tomato and Shells from Italy, and Spicy Thai from Thailand. Others include Hot and Sour, Buckaroo Bean Chili and Sesame Miso. The soups are all-natural and the new packaging notes whether the product is vegan, kosher, gluten- or yeast-free, low in fat, or a good source of fiber, iron or specific vitamins. The soups are available for distribution nationwide in natural food stores and supermarkets at a

suggested retail price of $2.19 per 3.3-ounce package.

2) JUICE THAT SPARKLES

NEW YORK - Fizzy Lizzy Sparkling Juice is a blend of juice and carbonated water that offers the same full day's supply of vitamin C as 12 ounces of 100% orange juice, but with fewer calories and less sugar. Fizzy Lizzy is available in eight flavors - passionfruit, raspberry lemon, pineapple, grapefruit, Concord grape, Fuji apple, cranberry and orange. All contain an average of 67% juice per bottle and all have no added sugar, corn syrup or preservatives. The sparkling juices are available nationwide for approximately $1.49 per bottle.

3) GI GOODNESS

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Solo GI Nutrition here has introduced the SoLo GI Low Glycemic Nutrition Bar, a 100-calorie snack bar. Available in five flavors - Chocolate Charger, Peanut Power, Mint Mania, Berry Bliss and Lemon Lift - each contains antioxidants, calcium, vitamin D, folic acid, iron, chromium and zinc. SoLo GI products do not contain sugar alcohol, high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oil or trans fat. Each 0.88-ounce bar has a suggested retail price of $1.19-$1.39.

4) MA-ME! KNOWS BEST

CINCINNATI - Bright Future Foods here has created a new healthy, on-the-go, ready-to-eat edamame snack called Ma-Me! One serving contains 110 calories, is high in fiber, is 100% cholesterol-free and packs all the benefits of soy. Packaging preserves the freshness of the soybeans, and currently Kroger and Supervalu's bigg's markets in the Cincinnati area carry the product. A national retail rollout is expected by the end of the year. Ma-Me! comes fresh in 6-ounce brown bags merchandised in the produce department at a suggested retail price of $2.99 per bag. The line comes shelled or unshelled in 12-ounce bags for the freezer section for a suggested retail price of $3.29 per bag.

5) ICELAND MEETS THE WORLD

THORLAKSHOFN, Iceland - Icelandic Water Holdings here has announced national distribution in Wild Oats Markets of Icelandic Glacial bottled water. First introduced here in 2005, the water is sourced from a naturally replenished, 4,500-year-old underground spring shielded from pollution by a barrier of lava rock, and is classified as sodium-free. At Wild Oats, Icelandic Glacial is available in half-liter and 1-liter bottles at a suggested retail price of $1.19 and $1.69, respectively. Six-packs of 16.9-ounce bottles are carried at SuperTarget stores nationwide at a suggested retail price of $5.49.

6) PIE-OH-MY!

RICHMOND, British Columbia - LifeStream, an additive- and preservative-free natural foods brand under Nature's Path, has introduced a line of fruit-filled frozen, single-serve pies called Pie-Oh-My! Made with at least 70% organic ingredients, the frozen pies come in four flavors of real fruit filling, including apple, mixed berry, dark cherry and pineapple. Each box comes with a microwave-friendly heating method. The pies have a suggested retail price of $1.99-$2.79 each.

7) FROZEN KASHI

LA JOLLA, Calif. - Kashi Co. here has introduced a new line of all-natural frozen entrees, with the initial launch including seven 10-ounce, one-dish items in poultry, seafood and vegetarian varieties including Lemon Rosemary Chicken, Black Bean Mango, Lime Cilantro Shrimp, Chicken Pasta Pomodoro, Pesto Pasta Primavera, Southwest Style Chicken and others. The new line will be in stores in late July 2006, at $3.99 per entree.

8) HEALTH EXOTIC

AMERICAN FORK, Utah - Pure Fruit Technologies here has added three new juice supplement varieties that join the company's flagship Mango-xan Antioxidant Recovery Formula, a mangosteen fruit-based supplement. Seabuck-7 Rejuvenation Formula, Goji-Zen Longevity Formula and Gac-Chi Heart & Vision Formula are now ship-ready for food retail outlets nationwide. The supplements are available in three sizes - a 1-liter bottle, a half-liter bottle and a mini 1.67 fluid-ounce bottle. They are available for the suggested retail prices of $29.95, $19.95 and $2.95, respectively.
