'Kukla, Fran and Ollie' Hit Video
television series "Kukla, Fran and Ollie" will be released on video for the first time on Oct. 22, digitally enhanced by New Kid Home Video. Five episodes will be issued at that time with a suggested retail price of $14.95 each. There are a total of 39 color episodes in the library of "Kukla, Fran and Ollie" titles owned by New Kid Home Video. The rest will be released in the next 36 months.
Each tape includes a 30-minute program and a 15-minute feature on one of the characters. A Premiere Collector's Edition boxed set of the first five episodes will be offered at a suggested retail of $74.75.
Unapix Issues Two New Tapes
NEW YORK -- Unapix Consumer Products will release "Houdini" on Oct. 15 at a suggested retail price of $19.98. The release will coincide with the 70th anniversary of Harry Houdini's death. Unipix also will release "Wheels," a six-volume set about America's fascination with automobiles, on Oct. 29. The "Wheels" tapes will be priced at $14.98 each.
NBA Offers Video Incentives
NEW YORK -- NBA Video will support its "NBA Action Series" brand on Oct. 15 with a retailer and consumer incentive program. The series includes new release "NBA Furious Finishes" and two repackaged titles, "NBA Guts & Glory" and "NBA Super Slams 2." All three retail for $14.98 with an order date of Sept. 23. Retailers are being offered a reduced unit wholesale cost of $6.25 on the titles, down from $7.50 per unit. Twelve and 24 piece prepacks of "NBA Furious Finishes" are available, along with 24-piece prepacks with all three titles. Consumers who purchase any two of the tapes from the "NBA Action Series" will be offered a free "NBA Legacy" video through a mail-in rebate offer. An on-pack sticker will promote the offer.
