McKesson is the largest distributor of pharmaceuticals and health care products in North America. Operating profit for the company's US Health Care business rose 11%. Operating profit for Milbrook, the company's service merchandising unit, declined to $1.3 million from $3.8 million in the second quarter of 1995.

Colgate's Volume Climbs 5%

NEW YORK -- Colgate-Palmolive Co. here announced sales increased 5% to $2.2 billion in the third quarter ended Sept. 30. Colgate said it continues to do well with Palmolive Antibacterial dishwashing liquid, which has captured 35% of the market. Colgate Baking Soda & Peroxide and Mennen Speed Stick gel have also added market share in the toothpaste and deodorant categories, the company said.

PFI Store-Brand Sales Are Up

EDISON, N.J. -- Pharmaceutical Formulations Inc. here announced that its sales have increased 18% for the first quarter of fiscal 1996, ended Sept. 30. The sales increase was in the company's store-brand and contract manufacturing sectors.

PFI is the second-largest solid dosage generic pharmaceutical manufacturer in the country. It offers more than 100 different types of generic over-the-counter products, which are sold under its customers' store brands.
