WhipperSnapple Introduced
Snapple Beverage Corp. here has introduced WhipperSnapple, a blend of fruit juices and purees, dairy products and other all-natural ingredients that are whipped together.
Packaged in proprietary 10-ounce swirl-shaped bottles, WhipperSnapple is available in Orange Dream, Peach Mango, Strawberry Banana and Pineapple Orange flavors.
Pete's to Reinvent Microbrew
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Beginning this month, Pete's Brewing Co. here is undertaking a series of steps to reinvent and revitalize its microbrew beers and ales.
As part of the restructuring, the flagship product's name is being changed from Pete's Wicked to Pete's, new graphics will be introduced and longneck bottles will be changed to shorter ones. Also, company founder Pete Slosberg will take on a more prominent role, being featured on packaging and in marketing communications.
This month the company is also introducing a new product, Pete's ESP (Extra Smooth Pub) Lager, which is a lighter-styled, golden-colored craft beer.
Select Beverages Acquired
DARIEN, Ill. -- Select Beverages here has been acquired by a new joint-venture company called American Bottling Co., which is owned by Cadbury Schweppes, London, and Carlyle Group, Washington.
Select is one of North America's largest and most successful independent bottlers and distributors of soft drinks and New Age beverages, including Seven Up, Dr Pepper, Royal Crown Cola, Crush, Schweppes, Squirt, A&W root beer, Canfield's, Graf's, Snapple, Clearly Canadian and ThorSpring, as well as private-label products.
