Turkey Group Sets Convention
al Turkey Federation will hold its annual convention Jan. 8 to 12 at the Buena Vista Palace in Orlando, Fla.
Congressman Tim Penny, D-Minn., will deliver the keynote speech, focusing on problems confronting Congress and the effect of those problems on agriculture.
Other sessions scheduled during the event will address pathogen-reduction programs, marketing efforts and marketshare issues. Additionally, a retail industry official will present an overview of how meat and deli managers view turkey.

Tholstrup Adds 5-Cheese Packs
WARREN, N.J. -- Tholstrup Cheese here has introduced a five-flavor line of single-serving cheeses called Pick and Mix.
The 0.7-ounce cheeses, imported from Denmark, include blue castello, white castello, tolko chive, tolko pineapple and tolko paprika. Each is individually wrapped in either a sturdy foil or in a small clear cup.
The Pick and Mix concept allows the consumer to pick and mix a variety of cheeses, instead of buying larger sizes of cheeses.
The cheeses are available to retailers in two packaging forms. One package is the Pick and Mix Co-pack, a 50-piece variety pack, is shipped in a display carton. Each carton includes 15 plastic bags for the customer to pick and mix their own variety. The second, the Five Cheese Mix, is a preassorted retail pack containing one of each of the five cheeses. The suggested price for five cheeses is $2.49.
