Kodak's Sales, Net Are Down
an Kodak Co. here has reported net earnings of $368 million for the second quarter ended June 30, compared with $440 million a year ago, a drop of 16.4%.
Sales were down 7.4%, to $3.89 billion from $4.2 billion a year ago. Analysts cited several factors, including price competition -- especially from Fuji Photo Film -- and losses on its Advantix camera and digital products.
Ekco Unleashing "Critters"

Made of polypropylene and nylon, the brushes come in five different styles -- cat, dog, fish, pig and frog -- and come in a 45-piece floor display or a 15-piece counter display. Suggested retail is $2.99 to $3.99.
Conair Adds Foot Care Line
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Conair Corp. here is expanding its foot care offerings with the September debuts of its Soothing Slipper Foot Massager and Dr. Fabricant's Soothing System Foot Massager.
Dr. B. Robert Fabricant is a podiatrist whose Dr. Fabricant's Foot Health Products line has a licensing agreement with Conair.
The Soothing Slipper is a slipper-like device that fits both feet at once. Battery-operated, it retails for $28.99. The Dr. Fabricant massager features six different attachments, providing its user a customized massage. Suggested retail for the massager is $36.99.
Bright of America Buys Scentex
SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. -- Bright of America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Russ Berrie & Co. that manufactures scented candles, educational placemats and teaching aids here, has acquired Scentex, a maker of home fragrances, incense and potpourri. Scentex's manufacturing operations will be moved to Bright of America's West Virginia plant.
