Haribo Adds Smaller Sizes
f America here has introduced 1.5-ounce bags of its Gold Bears and new miniature Frogs to the retail market in response to buyers' demands for smaller pack sizes to attract a broader range of consumers.
The mini Frogs look like their full-sized counterparts, but are multicolored and available in an assorted fruit-flavor mix. The double-deposit gummies feature marshmallow bellies below green, yellow, red and orange bodies.
Standard Offers New Products
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Standard Candy Co. here has introduced several new products for the holiday seasons.
New items for Halloween include Witches Wands -- individually twist-wrapped mini orange stick candies with black and orange stripes available in 9-ounce lay-down bags, 2.5-pound tubs and 30-pound bulk cases. Standard is also introducing Witches Broomsticks, individually twist-wrapped black and orange banana-flavored taffy available in 11-ounce lay-down bags, 3-pound tubs and 30-pound bulk cases.
Standard has also introduced several new Christmas products, including Cumberland Ridge Pecan Clusters with a Christmas CD pack. Featuring 8-ounces of pecan clusters, the pack sports a free Christmas carol CD featuring favorites like "Silent Night" and "Oh Christmas Tree."
Trolli Unveils New Sizes
PLANTATION, Fla. -- Trolli here has introduced 1-pound round tubs for its Brite Crawlers, Peachies, AppleOs, Trolli Octopus, Strawberry Puffs, Melon Patch and Trolli Squiggles line of products. Brite Crawlers, Peachies and Gummi Beans and Classic Bears are also available in a new line of fun boxes that have a suggested retail of 89 cents each.
Trolli has introduced Snak Paks for its Gummi Beans and Classic Bears items. The packs each contain 18 change-maker bags, and each Snak Pak has a suggested retail of $1.99.
Favorite, Nestle Set Promotion
LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. -- Favorite Brands International here has announced a tie-in campaign with Nestle Crunch to celebrate that classic summer treat -- S'Mores. Launching Memorial Day weekend, the promotion consists of a half-page national freestanding-insert drop, plus a prepacked display shipper. The FSI will have a 25-cent coupon, with a 15-cent version being used in double-coupon markets. The FSI will also include a 30-cent coupon for Nestle Crunch.
Both elements merchandise Jet-Puffed brand marshmallows with Nestle chocolate, driving consumers to purchase the ingredients needed to prepare S'Mores and other summer treats.
