Gummi Savers Joins the Web

LifeSavers Co. here has joined with Imagine Publishing to create the GamePlayers World Wide Web site.

The site is being marketed as a location in which video game players learn how to improve their scores, advance further into the levels of a game or keep up with industry trends. Gummi Savers hopes to make itself the primary confection of players and Web crawlers.

The theme, "Fuel Up at http://www.gameplayers.com," stresses the comprehensiveness of the site while implicating Gummi Savers as the "fuel" for game players. The GamePlayers site will feature data cards -- which trace the development of new games from the storyboard to retail release -- along with game premieres, video clips, sound files, arcade game giveaways and other on-line competitions. As part of the promotion and site launch, Gummi Savers is offering its Gummi Savers video game, Chomp!, to site visitors for free.

The bags carry a suggested retail of $1.79 each.

The red-and-green Holiday Dots are a Christmas extension to Tootsie Roll's Mason Dots line. The cherry- and lime-flavored candies are sugar-free and feature festive characters.
