Two Kathy Ireland Videos Set
ntertainment here will release two new fitness videos starring Kathy Ireland. Streeting Dec. 4, their suggested retail price will be $14.99. The two titles are "Kathy Ireland's ABSolutely Fit" and "Kathy Ireland's Advanced Sports Fitness."
'The Postman' Coming Jan. 28
BURBANK, Calif. -- The long-awaited "The Postman (Il Postino)" will be released to the rental market Jan. 28 by Buena Vista Home Video here. The movie is the all-time highest-grossing foreign language film ever in the United States.
Buena Vista also will release "Phenomenon," which stars John Travolta and grossed $101 million at the box office, to the rental market Jan. 14.
Other January releases will include "Eddie," starring Whoopi Goldberg, which grossed $31 million, set for Jan. 21; "Chungking Express," from Quentin Tarantino's new Rolling Thunder Pictures label, Jan. 21; and "Deadman," starring Johnny Depp, Jan. 28.
The studio also has published the third issue of its "Film Insider" giveaway magazine. It features Sean Connery, Nicholas Cage and Quentin Tarantino on the cover.
Canadian Comic Issues Video
BETHESDA, Md. -- Acorn Media here has released a video featuring Canadian comic Red Green, who has a program on PBS stations in 100 television markets in the United States. The 67-minute tape retails for $19.95.
'The Stupids' Arrive Dec. 31
LOS ANGELES -- New Line Home Video here will release "The Stupids," starring Tom Arnold and featuring Jenny McCarthy, to the rental market Dec. 31. The movie was directed by John Landis. Prebook of the PG-rated movie is Dec. 10.
NHL Highlights Hit Streets
NEW YORK -- "Ice Hot: The Best of the 1995-96 NHL Season" has been released by NHL Video and CBS/Fox Video Sports here, at a suggested retail price of $14.98. The title is being supported by a consumer sweepstakes offering a grand prize of a trip for two to the 1997 Stanley Cup Finals. Other prizes include NHL videos and subscriptions to NHL PowerPlay magazine.
Paramount Reprices 'Flo-Jo'
HOLLYWOOD -- Paramount Home Video here has repriced "The Flo-Jo Workout Mind, Body, Spirit" to a suggested retail price of $14.95 in time for the holiday season. Paramount also has re-released three classic movies at a suggested retail of $9.95. These are "The War of The Worlds," the original "The Nutty Professor," and "Terms of Endearment." These will be backed by national print advertising.
Kids' Safety Tape Released
ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. -- "Working It Out: A Survival Guide for Kids" has been released by PSI Productions here with a suggested retail price of $14.95. It is the second tape in the "Personal Safety Series" and deals with such topics as bullying, sexual harassment, and guns at home and at school.
