Veal Promotion Boosts Sales
n three cities boosted sales in those markets by 85%, according to the Veal Committee, a division of the Beef Industry Council here.
Some 20 retail chains participated in the promotion, which moved a half-million more pounds of veal than last year's effort, according to the committee.
The event, which featured shoulder, rib and loin chops, ran from July 18 through Aug. 31 in Chicago, New York and Philadelphia. The promotion included radio advertisements, in-store demonstrations and displays, on-pack recipe stickers and a retail ad program. During the promotion, retailers featured veal in ads and promoted it as a summer grilling item.
