Cascadian Farm here has extended its most popular line of frozen entrees, Organic Veggie Bowls, with the addition of five new flavors.

The new items are Japanese Noodles & Vegetables, New England Corn Chowder, Garden Calzone, Madras Curry and Caribbean Veggies & Rice.

Gene Kahn, founder and president of Cascadian Farm, noted that if consumer demand for convenient vegetarian entrees continues at its current pace, the company will continue to introduce quality products to meet that need.

Suggested retail price for the Veggie Bowls ranges from $2.89 to $3.79.

Amy's Expands Sandwich Line

SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Amy's Kitchen here has added four flavors to its pocket sandwich line: Roasted Vegetables, Mediterranean Vegetables, Broccoli & Cheese and Tamale. All sandwiches contain organic vegetables and grains. Suggested retail price is $1.99.

Godzilla Invades Ice Cream

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Edy's Grand Ice Cream here is offering a limited edition of Godzilla Vanilla Ice Cream, featuring chocolate Godzilla replicas in vanilla ice cream with swirls of fudge.

About 70 chocolate Godzilla pieces will be in each half-gallon carton. The new flavor will be available through August. Suggested retail price is $4.79.

New Varieties From DiGiorno

GLENVIEW, Ill. -- Three Mushroom, Spicy Chicken Supreme and Sausage & Pepperoni are three new frozen pizza flavors in the DiGiorno Rising Crust pizza line, which now has 10 varieties. DiGiorno is based here.

The new pizzas will be available nationwide, with a suggested retail of $5.59. The launch was supported with a national freestanding insert, which ran yesterday. Event sampling will be done throughout the summer.

ConAgra Has Family Meals

OMAHA, Neb. -- ConAgra Frozen Food here has introduced Marie Callender Family Meals to meet consumers' desire for convenience, larger portions and restaurant quality at home.

The multiple-serving Family Meals feature the following combinations: Lasagne and Meat, Macaroni and Cheese, Turkey and Mashed Potatoes, Escalloped Noodles, Chicken Fried Steak, Chicken and Dumplings, Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and four-packs of Chicken Pot Pies.

Meal sizes range from 37 ounces to 48 ounces, with a suggested retail from $4.99 to $6.99.

Starkist Is Testing Entrees

CINCINNATI -- Starkist Seafood here is testing restaurant-quality frozen seafood entrees in Pittsburgh; San Antonio; and Buffalo, N.Y.

Marketed under the new brand name, Seafood Gourmet, the line currently features Salmon with Creamy Dill Sauce and Pacific Cod with Creamy Dijon, Roasted Sweet Pepper or Cajun Style sauces.

The Seaside Gourmet package carries the Starkist name and the Charlie the Tuna icon. Varieties are clearly displayed in white, with flavors printed on soft green, red, gold or honey-colored banners. A box caption is used to identify "quick and easy" preparation. Suggested retail is $4.99 for the cod and $5.99 for the salmon.
