Approximately 6,500 mentally retarded athletes from more than 120 countries are scheduled to participate.
IGA will provide food for the participants and has also set a fund-raising goal of $1 million to give to the Special Olympics.

Red Apple Selling Two Stores
NEW YORK -- Red Apple Group here said last week it has entered into a contract to sell its two Grand Union stores in the Virgin Islands to Pueblo Xtra International, Pompano Beach, Fla., for an unspecified amount of cash.
The transaction is expected to be completed by early August, the company said.
Red Apple operates 78 supermarkets, including 35 privately held Sloan's Supermarkets and 11 publicly held Sloan's here, 29 Gristedes here, the two Grand Unions in the Virgin Islands and one Grand Union in the Bahamas.
Pueblo operates 57 stores, including five in the Virgin Islands, 44 in Puerto Rico and eight in Florida.
Harvest Opens First Market Basket
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Harvest Foods here has opened its first Market Basket store in Stuttgart, Ark.
The format, specifically designed to serve small communities, averages 25,000 square feet and offers a conventional merchandise mix.
As reported, some 30 more Market Basket stores are planned by the company within the next five years.
Harvest Foods currently operates 54 supermarkets in the south, as well as its wholly-owned subsidiary Rand's, a wholesale operation.
