Tech Gadgets Boost Energizer Sales
wth of sales of palm-top computers, digital cameras, camcorders and hand-held TV's have also sparked dramatic jumps in retail sales of Energizer's line of Lithium AA photo batteries (L91), up 26% during the last year, according to a company release.
Energizer says that hand-held and other small portable high-tech consumer products account for more than 20% of AA and AAA alkaline battery usage. They anticipate that acceleration of sales of these electronics will raise consumer demand for high-performance batteries as much as 60% by 2002.
The manufacturer says its L-91 lasts at least 5 times longer than alkaline batteries, and provides a shorter recycle time for photo flash units.
