Ralphs Dairy Wins Medals
s Grocery Co.'s manufactured dairy products were honored this month with 111 gold medals for excellence at this year's Los Angeles County Fair. Among the products honored were the chain's ice cream products, as well as cheese, milk and butter items. The products were all produced and packaged at the company's creamery facilities in Compton and Riverside, both in California.
According to George Boyle, vice president of manufacturing for the Compton, Calif.-based chain, the 111 gold medals won by Ralphs were the most awarded to any supermarket company in the history of the fair. Similarly, the retailer also won more total medals (142 gold, silver and bronze) than any other southern California supermarket operator.
Each of the company's gold medal-winning products was rated best in its category for texture, flavor and packaging quality.
