Neuman, Drug Guild to Merge

RIDGEFIELD, N.J. -- Neuman Health Services here has agreed to a merger with Drug Guild Distributors, a deal that would create the sixth-largest wholesale pharmaceutical distributor in the United States. The companies have combined sales of more than $1.7 billion and combined assets of more than $350 million.

Neuman Health Services is the parent company of Neuman Distributors, the nation's largest independent wholesale pharmaceutical distributor. Secaucus, N.J.-based Drug Guild Distributors is one of the oldest regional wholesalers, serving more than 800 independent pharmacies and health and beauty care stores in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

McKesson Unit Restructures

SAN FRANCISCO -- McKesson Corp. here has restructured its Health Care Services segment. The new U.S. Health Care unit will encompass McKesson Drug, McKesson Health Systems and a newly expanded business, McKesson Pharmaceutical & Retail Services.
