turipe has introduced a value-added strawberry product called the "Berry Dipper." The package includes prewashed long-stemmed strawberries with a 4-ounce container of Marzetti's chocolate-flavored sauce.

The cooperative suggests merchandising the Berry Dipper in the produce department next to other berries.

Naturipe plans to offer the new product to its existing retail customer base. The product will be available during the same time period as its other consumer products that come in clam shell packages, such as the 1-pound and 2-pound strawberry packages. According to the cooperative, the Berry Dipper will have a pre-determined FOB price and a predetermined promotional price.

Fresh Express Gets Kosher Stamp

SALINAS, Calif. -- Fresh Express Farms has earned kosher certification from OK Laboratories for its World Blends, cole slaw and Garden Salad varieties.

The certification from Brooklyn, N.Y.-based OK will allow Fresh Express to display the kosher symbol, a letter "K" within a circle, on its product.

According to Fresh Express, it is the first national packaged salad company to earn kosher certification. To be kosher, the company said the products must be free of bugs.

Pacific Fruit Makes Web Debut

NEW YORK -- Pacific Fruit, which distributes and markets Bonita Bananas, has introduced a home page on the World Wide Web.

Targeted to consumers, the page contains information about the company's origins and products, as well as general information about bananas. The address is http://www.bonita.com.

Pacific Fruit is looking at the page as a way to build awareness of the Bonita brand, according to Howard Nager, the company's director of marketing.
