Shansby Buys Garden of Eatin'
Group, an investment partnership here, has acquired the Garden of Eatin', a Los Angeles-based organic/natural-food company best known for Blue Chips.
Shansby's other organic/natural-food companies include Alexander, maker of Terra Chips; Arrowhead Mills; and DeBoles Nutritional Foods.
Quaker Offers Steel Cut Oats
CHICAGO -- Quaker Oats Co. here is introducing Quaker Steel Cut Oats, a Hearty Irish Style of oatmeal, in Los Angeles this month. It is the first stage of a regional rollout.
The oats are packaged in 25.5-ounce glass jars that retail for about $4.49. The new steel-cut oats are minimally processed, and not rolled, giving them a rich nutty flavor.
