Pharmacists Are 'Most Trusted'
pharmacists have been cited as America's most trusted professionals, according to the CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll. Sixty-four percent of U.S. consumers deemed the honesty and ethical standards of pharmacists "high" or "very high," according to the poll of more than 1,000 adults. Ranked No. 2 was the clergy, which was named by 59% of respondents. Poll participants were asked to rate a total of 28 different professions.
"This poll again confirms that the nation's independent community pharmacists are highly valued by their patients. They trust us -- both the medicines we dispense and the pharmacist-care services and counseling we provide," said Whitaker Moose, president of the National Community Pharmacists Association, Alexandria, Va.
