al Foods here has added Cheese Quesadillas with Pico de Gallo Salsa, a new addition to its selection of Mexican and Southwestern frozen entrees.

The product is made with organic unbleached flour tortillas, filled with cheddar, Monterey jack and parmesan cheeses, and a salsa with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, jalapeno peppers and green onions. A three-quesadilla pack retails for $2.99 and is available nationally at natural foods and select grocery stores.

Brigham's Offers Summer Sherbet

ARLINGTON, Mass. -- Brigham's Ice Cream here has begun distributing its popular summertime flavor, Raspberry Lime Rickey Sherbet, in colorful, quart-sized containers at supermarkets, convenience stores and fine food stores throughout New England.

During the summer, raspberry lime rickey as a drink is the best-selling carbonated beverage at all 29 Brigham's Restaurants. The sherbet version has been around for more than five years in the restaurants, but only now has moved to the store freezer. Its suggested retail price is $2.99 to $3.29 a quart. It will continue to be sold by the scoop and in quarts at all Brigham's Restaurants in the greater Boston area.

Four More Dean's 'Really Cool Flavors'

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Dean Foods here has announced that four new flavors -- Dulce de Leche, Dulce de Leche con Chocolate, Strawberry Smash and Kodiak Island Fudge -- will join the ranks of its "Really Cool Flavors" line of 16 nontraditional flavors.

Launched in 1996, the "Really Cool Flavors" sub-brand adds extra elements, like candy, strawberry bursts and fudge swirls, to the ice cream.

Dreamery Auction On-Line

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Dreyer's and Edy's Grand Ice Cream here is running a Dreamery Internet auction for consumers June 15 to 30, based on points earned by logging onto the Dreamery Ice Cream Web site, ordering Dreamery gift certificates on-line, sending Dreamery e-postcards or reviewing Dreamery flavors.

Called Dreamery Cool Scoops Auction, consumers use points they've earned to bid for prizes such as ice cream parties, travel vouchers and T-shirts.

Ruiz Food Products Announces Expansion

DINUBA, Calif. -- Ruiz Food Products here announced plans to increase the size of its facility by 65,000 square feet with the construction of a new distribution area and a 10-degree F freezer area. Construction was set to begin this month, with completion in December.

The current site is 220,000 square feet located on 43 acres here. The total amount of the capital expenditure program will exceed $4 million.

"This expansion is a critical component of our three-year strategic plan to double our sales," said Ric Alvarez, president and CEO of Ruiz Food Products.

The privately held company makes and sells convenience and microwavable frozen Mexican food. Product lines include a complete selection of burritos, taquitos, enchiladas and Mexican appetizers sold across the United States.

A Delicious Destination Opens Its Doors

LeMARS, Iowa -- Wells' Dairy's new Visitor Center, modestly called the Ice Cream Capital of the World Visitor Center, opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 26.

The town of LeMars is the home of Wells' Dairy, maker of Blue Bunny ice cream and frozen desserts. The company says more ice cream is produced here than anywhere in the world, hence its name. The museum of "everything ice cream" features interactive exhibits and an admission fee of $2 for adults and $1 for children ages 5-12. Everyone younger gets in free, as do educational groups with a prior appointment.

The Ice Cream Capital of the World Visitor Center is located at the intersection of U.S. 75 and Iowa 3 here, about 25 miles north of Sioux City and 80 miles south of the Iowa Great Lakes region. Tours can be scheduled by Angie Watson, the visitor center manager, at 712-546-4090.
