Coca-Cola Set to Push Surge
. here is launching Surge -- a "fully loaded citrus soda" -- next month.
Surge is created to appeal to the active youth and young adult market and has a bold citrus taste, bright green color, low carbonation and maltodextrin, an energy-yielding complex carbohydrate.
Coca-Cola aims to sample Surge to five million consumers during the product's first month, and will advertise it via radio, point-of-sale and television, including two commercials that will air during the Super Bowl.
Surge will be available in a wide-mouth 12-ounce can, a proprietary 20-ounce bottle, 1- and 2-liter bottles and through fountain outlets.
Greenfield Launches Promotion
WILTON, Conn. -- Greenfield Healthy Foods Co. here has launched a regional grocery promotion that offers shoppers a free packet of Gourmet Award Chocolate Royale instant fat-free cocoa mix. It will be inside specially marked boxes of Greenfield's Fat Free Chocolate Chip Brownie or Fat Free Chocolate Chip Blondie.
In-store floorstand displays with a riser card feature the promotion, which runs through next month.
