CINCINNATI -- Kroger here has expanded Coinstar coin-processing machines to 72 Detroit area stores, 96 Atlanta units and 45 Nashville Kroger Marketing Area locations, as an alternative to customers wrapping and rolling loose coins. "We are pleased to be the first grocery chain in Nashville to offer such a tremendous service," said Mark Thompson, the Nashville KMA's president. "We believe customers will appreciate the speed and convenience of the machines," he added. Coinstar kiosks accept unsorted coins, counting and dispensing a voucher redeemable at the checkout for cash or in-store purchases.
