Tillamook Unveils Aged Cheddar
k County Creamery Association has introduced an extra sharp vintage white cheddar cheese.
Aged three years -- twice as long as Tillamook's regular extra sharp -- for extra flavor, the vintage cheese is a one-time specialty cheese produced in celebration of Tillamook's 85th anniversary, a spokesman said.
Packaged in a two-pound loaf either wax-wrapped or in a commemorative tin, the vintage cheese was launched on the West Coast this month and is available through specialty distributors nationwide.
Flavor Crisp Shrinks Rotisserie
OMAHA, Neb. -- Flavor Crisp of America here has introduced a rotisserie oven particularly designed for its compactness.
The table-top-sized unit -- 22 inches deep, 24 inches wide, and 26 inches high -- cooks up to 12 three-pound chickens at a time. And it's stackable. Another unit can be added on top or a warmer underneath, a company spokesman said. The door swings up and out of the operator's way.
Flavor Crisp, owned by Ballantyne of Omaha, also manufactures smoker ovens and pressure fryers for restaurants and supermarkets.
