Yoo-hoo Heralds Mix-Up Line

NEW YORK -- Austin, Nichols & Co. here has introduced a new line of Yoo-hoo Mix-Ups flavored chocolate-based drinks to its flagship Yoo-hoo Chocolate Drink.

Initially available in Chocolate-Banana, Chocolate-Mint, Chocolate-Coconut and Chocolate-Raspberry flavors, the line is packaged in 15.5-ounce wide-mouth glass bottles that retail between 79 and 99 cents. Like the original, the Mix-Ups are 99% fat free, 99% caffeine free and 100% cholesterol free.

Mistic Springs Rain Forest Line

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Mistic Brands here is working to save the rain forest with its new eye-catching line of Mistic Rain Forest Nectars.

Introduced in late summer, the line of all-natural fruit drinks contains over 20% juice and is available in Strawberry Banana, Orange Passionfruit Guava, Papaya Mango and Pineapple Peach flavors. The line is packaged in 11.5-ounce cans featuring high-impact graphics of rain forest birds against a tropical flora background.

The graphics have also been incorporated into all Mistic Rain Forest Nectars point-of-sale materials, including pole toppers, counter cards, static cling decals, shelf talkers and product brochures.

For each can of Mistic Rain Forest Nectars purchased by consumers, Mistic makes a donation to the Nature Conservancy's "Adopt an Acre" program that will protect 5 square feet of Latin American rain forest.

Brooklyn Offers Brazilian Soda

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Brooklyn Bottling Corp. here has introduced Antarctica Guarana, Brazil's best-selling and original 100% natural full-flavored guarana soda, to American shores.

According to Brooklyn Bottling, unlike Pepsi's test Josta soft drink, which is a blend of flavors, Antarctica Guarana is flavored solely from the sorbilis-variety guarana berry found in the Amazon Rain Forest. In their raw form, the berries have twice the caffeine of coffee, and offer a different taste to each drinker.

Distribution began last month along the Eastern Seaboard. Antarctica Guarana is available in 20-ounce and 2-liter PET bottles, in regular and diet versions. A 20-ounce bottle retails from $1 to $1.25.
