Evian Joins Recycling Group
Brands of Europe and Danone International Brands, both here, have joined the National Association for Plastic Container Recovery, the leading nonprofit organization that promotes and facilitates the recycling of PET plastic containers.
The companies market Evian Natural Spring Water and Dannon Natural Spring Water, and have introduced proprietary packaging designed with reduced PET content that is easily compacted when empty.
Bud Floats Ballooning Contest
ST. LOUIS -- Anheuser-Busch Cos. here has announced the first-ever Budweiser Cup, an aviation challenge that will pay $1 million to the first aeronautical team to successfully circumnavigate the globe nonstop in a balloon. The team will receive $500,000 for itself and $500,000 for the charity or nonprofit organization of its choice, along with a crystal Budweiser Cup trophy. The challenge to balloonists will continue through Dec. 31, 1999.
