Introduced in the metro New York market, the dinner kits can be found at select units of Kings Super Markets, West Caldwell, N.J., as well as in upscale gourmet shops like Balducci's, Citarella and Zabars in Manhattan. The refrigerated kits include all necessary components for meals like Filet Mignon with Bacon & Polenta Cakes or Ahi Tuna with Wasabi and Spicy Seaweed Salad. A line of premium desserts is next, said company officials.

Hatfield Launches Deli Line

HATFIELD, Pa. -- Hatfield Quality Meats here has jumped full force into the deli category with the unveiling of a line of more than 50 varieties of deli meats and cheeses.

In business since 1895, Hatfield has long had a presence in the meat case with fresh pork and ham products. That will continue, but the deli debut will give the company a higher profile in the supermarket and will give the deli an opportunity to feature a brand that already has a strong degree of recognition, Hatfield officials said.

The company announced its commitment to deli at the Eastern Perishable Products Association's annual Taste Show last month in Secaucus, N.J., where it showed off its new line and supporting materials, including planograms and colorful point-of-sale materials.
