General Mills Launches Cereal
lls here is introducing a new cereal, French Toast Crunch. It will ship Oct. 21 at a suggested retail of $3.39.
The cereal, which will be available in 15.75-ounce packages, is a franchise extension of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, which debuted in 1984. General Mills will spend more than $30 million to launch the product.
P&G Testing Its Olestra Chips
CINCINNATI -- Procter & Gamble here is testing new Fat-Free Pringles, which are made with the controversial fat substitute Olean, in Columbus, Ohio.
A 1-ounce serving has no fat and less than half the calories (70) of a 1-ounce serving of regular Pringles. The Pringles line -- available in original, BBQ and Sour Cream 'n Onion flavors -- is packaged in 6-ounce canisters that are selling for $1.79 to $1.99. The line debuted today.
