The company is rolling out a 200-ml and 375-ml bottle to join the 750-ml bottle for the VSOP brand and a 100-ml size joins the six other sizes of the VS brand.

The new VSOP and VS size launches are supported by POS materials. The VS 750-ml bottle retails for an average price of $10.99. The VSOP 750-ml retails for $13.99.

Trinchero Launches RSVP

NAPA VALLEY, Calif. -- Trinchero Winery launched a new single-vineyard wine program called RSVP (Reserve Single-Vineyard Program).

The initial release was an estate-bottled 1999 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc. The suggested retail price for Trinchero 1999 Mary's Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is $18.

Dr Pepper'S Football Promos

PLANO, Texas -- Dr Pepper's "Pepper Pigskin" and "Pick Your Kick" promotions are back this year.

Consumers who live in the region included in the NCAA's Southeastern Conference have a chance to win a trip to the SEC Championship game.

Consumers in the region of the Big 12 Conference (Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado and Iowa) can win a trip to the Big 12 Championship Game through the "Pick Your Kick" promo. Any consumer outside of either of those regions can win the "Pepper Pigskin" sweepstakes that pits them against the SEC finalist.

Consumers can enter to win the grand prize drawing for these promos by mailing in a sweepstakes entry form. Preprinted forms will be found on specially marked Dr Pepper and Diet Dr Pepper 12-packs. Twenty-ounce and 2-liter bottles will feature graphics and instructions for the "Pick Your Kick" sweepstakes.

The winner of the grand prize receives an all-expenses-paid trip for two to either the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta or the Big 12 Conference Game in Texas.

At the game, the finalist will choose to try to kick a field goal from the 10-, 20- or 30-yard line before he goes out on the field. A successful field goal results in $50,000, $250,000 or $1 million, respectively, for the finalist.

The promotion will be supported by point-of-sale materials including shelf-talkers, pole signs, static clings, display spectaculars, cold vault danglers, vendor decals and shelf intruders. The promotion runs from September through October, with the final kick-offs of both promotions being televised nationally on Dec. 1.

Cliffstar Acquires Five Star

DUNKIRK, N.Y. -- Cliffstar Corp., a processor of private-label fruit juices, announced its acquisition of Five Star Cranberry Processors, Warrens, Wis.

Five Star operates the cranberry receiving station servicing most of Cliffstar's Wisconsin cranberry growers. The acquisition also ensures that proper cleaning facilities are available to growers who have contracts with Cliffstar.

Cliffstar manufactures 145 corporate brand-label fruit juices and drinks for leading grocery customers throughout North America. The company buys fruit from more than 500 grape, cranberry and apple growers.

New Delicato Ad Campaign

NAPA VALLEY, Calif. -- Delicato Family Vineyards has partnered with barbecue manufacturer Weber-Stephen Products Co., Palatine, Ill., to make summer wine sales sizzle.

The two companies have launched a cooperative promotion featuring special Delicato and Weber "Make Summer Sizzle" in-store wine rack displays and a consumer sweepstakes that features Delicato's Chardonnay and Shiraz, and Weber's new line of gourmet barbecue spice rubs.

Co-branded point-of-purchase displays support the promotion along with bottle-neckers on the Delicato wines that feature samples of the Weber spice rubs and recipes. The neckers also offer consumers special savings on the Weber Barbecue Rubs.

Entry forms for the consumer sweepstakes are available on the in-store displays or online at www.delicato.com. Consumers are eligible to win a Weber Summit 450 gas grill and other Weber grilling accessories and products. The promotion is scheduled to run through December.

Delicato has also launched a redesigned and revised Web site. The site provides consumers with more information about the winery and its brands.

The site incorporates a new corporate home page and three separate sites for each of the winery's three brands. The site will include a variety of consumer-friendly features, including "Find a Wine" and "Retail Locator" search functions. The "Retail Locator" helps users find Delicato in nearby retail stores and restaurants.

New Items At Pete's

SAN ANTONIO -- Pete's Brewing Co. here will roll out new packaging, products and programs this month.

The brand's metamorphosis begins with new packaging graphics and an embossed longneck bottle. The transformation continues with a streamlined portfolio of products that now includes the flagship Wicked Ale; Strawberry Blonde; a seasonal lineup of three rotating brews: Oktoberfest, Winter Brew and Summer Brew; and two energized new styles, Red Rush Ale and Helles Lager.

Retailers and their customers will also experience the new look and feel of the Pete's brand through point-of-sale materials in stores, bars and restaurants, and in new print and radio advertising.

The brand's flagship, will carry a new shield and trident design along with the word "Wicked" prominently emblazoned across the body and neck labels. The custom-embossed, longneck bottle also has a new pry-off crown that reinforces the super-premium positioning of the brand.

All three styles -- Oktoberfest, Winter Brew and Summer Brew -- feature bold new graphics and the Winter Brew recipe has also been refined to achieve stronger consumer appeal.

In addition, Pete's Brewing Co. has made it easier for retailers to rotate the three seasonal styles by utilizing a single UPC across all packaging components and by introducing a tap handle that includes built-in panels for all three styles for quick and easy rotation and the seasonal styles change.

Pete's Wicked Strawberry Blonde has added a 12-pack to its six-pack and draught package lineup. The new "battery box" style 12-pack replaces the more mainstream fiber cartons previously used on Pete's products and delivers superior merchandising and graphics to off-premise retail accounts.

Bucks Sets Up Endowment Program

MIAMI -- Bucks County Coffee Co. announced a new endowment program that has been established to benefit the coffee growers of the Embera-Chami tribe in San Lorenzo, Colombia. The Relationship Coffee Program is facilitated by the Colombian Coffee Federation (CCF).

The Embera-Chami tribe produces La Vereda specialty coffee. Bucks County Coffee Co. has signed an exclusive agreement to purchase the La Vereda beans and pay an additional sum per pound that will support the community endowment. The endowment will fund the construction of a community center in the San Lorenzo area and the purchase of new equipment and medicine for the only local health center.

Yoo-hoo Lite Back in Stock

NEW YORK -- Yoo-hoo Chocolate Beverage Corp. has reintroduced Yoo-hoo Lite with half the calories of regular Yoo-hoo. Yoo-hoo Lite's packaging substitutes a platinum background and yellow starburst for the trademark blue Yoo-hoo logo, while "half the calories" is declared in blazing red. Initial distribution was limited to the Southeastern markets.

Yoo-hoo Lite is 99% fat free and is certified by the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association's distinctive red heart with the white check mark appears on the new Yoo-hoo Lite packaging, indicating it's low in saturated fat and cholesterol and may be part of an overall heart-healthy diet.

Yoo-hoo Lite is a low-sodium product that provides 10% of the recommended daily allowances of iron, calcium and vitamins A, C and D.

Yoo-hoo is available in supermarkets in four flavors: Chocolate, Strawberry, Chocolate-Banana and Lite Chocolate.
