All the actions except those in Colorado and New Mexico are getting financial support from the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, Washington.

The merger has already been approved by Affiliated's creditors and Associated's shareholders. JITNEY-JUNGLE STORES OF AMERICA,

Jackson, Miss., said it has entered into a definitive agreement with Supervalu Holdings, Minneapolis, to sell 10 stores to Supervalu, confirming a story in last week's SN. Jitney said the stores, located along the Gulf Coast in Mississippi and Florida, will be sold to accommodate concerns by the Federal Trade Commission about those stores in the pending acquisition by Jitney of Delchamps, Mobile, Ala.

THE ARIZONA FOOD MERCHANTS Association, Phoenix, will honor Bruce Everette, senior vice president of Safeway, Pleasanton, Calif., and manager of the chain's Phoenix division, and Jerry Russell, account manager for the Southwest office of Mother's Cake & Cookie Co., Oakland, Calif., as retailer and supplier of the year at a dinner scheduled for Friday.

SMITH'S FOOD & DRUG CENTERS, Salt Lake City, merger into Fred Meyer Inc., Portland, Ore., is scheduled to be completed tomorrow, following votes by shareholders of both firms today.
