A North Carolina federal judge has rejected an attempt by Food Lion, Salisbury, N.C., to subpoena records from third parties to investigate news-gathering methods by ABC News, a Food Lion spokeswoman said. Food Lion sued ABC in 1992 in connection with a PrimeTime Live news segment that used hidden-camera footage to allege that the chain handled meat and fish in an unsanitary manner.
