st week opened two new prototype stores in Walpole, Mass., and Rhinebeck, N.Y., that feature several branded store-within-a-store departments, including: full-service Dunkin Donuts restaurants, Office Depot stores, "Best Sellers" entertainment departments and a "For Your Home" housewares section. The Walpole store also includes a Boston Market restaurant and a Toys R Us Toybox store. Five additional stores featuring the design are set to open this year in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Jersey.
Farm Stores Joins Associated Grocers of Florida
MIAMI -- Farm Stores Grocery here, parent of the 104-unit Express Markets chain of drive-through grocery stores, said last week that it joined cooperative wholesaler Associated Grocers of Florida. A spokeswoman for Farm Stores said the chain switched its $25 million grocery-supply contract from Fleming Cos., Dallas, because Associated was locally based.
