DATES SET FOR GEMCON
The Global Electronic Marketing Conference (GEMCON) will be held Nov. 9 to 11 at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Retail Systems Consulting here announced. Retail Systems Consulting has recently partnered with the Food Marketing Institute and Grocery Manufacturers of America in sponsoring GEMCON, but the consulting firm will be hosting the conference without the associations this year.
GIANT EAGLE TO INSTALL SYSTEMS IN FIVE DCS
PITTSBURGH -- Giant Eagle here plans to install warehouse and trading partner management systems, combined with business intelligence, slotting optimization and labor management tools, at its five distribution centers, Manhattan Associates, supplier of the systems, announced. In addition, Giant Eagle plans to use Manhattan Associates' capabilities in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). The technology is scheduled to go live in the first DC in the second quarter of 2004.
