MEIJER HONORS MUSHROOM COMPANY AS 'VENDOR OF YEAR'

In recognizing the company, Meijer officials noted Highline provides excellent promotional support, on-time deliveries and innovation, as well as outstanding product quality, private-label support and "cost containment." The mushroom supplier assembled a dedicated team to harvest Meijer quality mushrooms and also set aside a packing room, called "The Meijer Room," exclusively for the retailer. Highline Mushrooms grows mushrooms without the use of pesticides and has farms in Leamington and Wellington, Ontario, and distribution facilities in Montreal. It is one of the largest independent family-owned grower/shippers of fresh mushrooms in Canada. Based here, Meijer operates about 170 supercenters in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.
