The company also is preparing to open its first New Mexico location in Santa Fe. A spokesman for Trader Joe's could not be reached for comment. Trader Joe's operates more than 200 stores across the country. It is owned by Theo and Karl Albrecht, who also own the Aldi's limited-assortment chain.
